Old Glory Locksmith Glendale Flat Steel Key Mosler Safe Lockout After

Job Details

Location of Job: Glendale, AZ
When: Aug 8, 2017
Service Category: Residential
Services Performed: Safe Opening
Brief Explanation

I love opening safes.

There is both a science and an art to solving these puzzles that I just really enjoy. So when I had a client call me up about an old safe he had, I was intrigued.

I thought he was talking about an old fire safe or even gun safe, but this was much more rare.

I Opened An Antique Safe in Glendale!

This client had an antique Triumph-labeled Mosler safe. Mosler was a company that made serious safes and bank-vaults until about 16 years ago. This one seems to be from the late 1800s.

They were renowned for their strength. In fact, several of their safes, installed in bank vaults in Hiroshima withstood the nuclear attack on that city! Talk about serious money protection!

Anyway, my customer had the combination to the main door, but the interior door required a key. Not just any key, but a flat steel key that they did not have. They called us to open it.

Since these antique safes aren't all that common, and after doing extensive research, I may be the only locksmith to open such a lock in over 20 years! I opened the antique safe and then I decode the lock so I can fabricate a new "Flat Steel Key" for it.

Call me if you have a safe that needs opening, especially and ancient safe like this! I love 'em.

Location of Job: Glendale, AZ
When: Apr 20, 2017
Service Category: Residential
Services Performed: Installed New Lock Sets
Brief Explanation

I got a new customer who was in need of some new locks in Glendale. She wanted to get a locksmith to replace her privacy locks she had on her bedroom doors.

Privacy locks can be locked by a button or turn-piece on the inside, but they have no key function. They are used on interior doors in bedroom and bathroom applications. Generally, privacy lock sets have an emergency entry hole on the outside to allow easy access to a room if needed, but these particular ones did not.

As we discussed her options, which were to leave them as they were (not an option for her), replace the privacy locks with some new basic locks or get a keyed privacy lock. The customer decided it would be a better option to just have a keyed entry.

She also didn't want different door knobs on all her doors so she needed someone who could match the levers and knobs already existing in the home.

I walked her through getting the correct product ordered and discussed what she would be looking at in the way of cost. I also reminded her that once we had the lock sets in hand, I would be able to get everything taken care of and installed in about an hour. She was happy with the options provided and asked me to go ahead and order the locks.

I ordered the new entry locks to match existing locks and privacy locks in her Glendale home. Once they arrived I set up a time to come over that worked for her and went about removing the old locks and installing new privacy locks.

As promised, it was taken care of quickly and I was able to provide her exactly what she was looking for. She told me she was happy to get a fair price and good knowledgeable craftsmanship.

Location of Job: Glendale
When: Jul 31, 2016
Service Category: Commercial
Services Performed: Install New Commercial Lever Locks, Rekey Those Locks And Install Latch Guards
Brief Explanation

The customers at this business establishment in Glendale, AZ decided to rekey their door locks in order to increase their security measures. Latch guards were also installed to strengthen security. .

Business Security

Take a look at another door lock rekey job that we did in the area.

Periodic rekeying of locks is vital to maintain what is referred to as "key control." Over time keys will pass through multiple hands. While an individual has access to keys, there is the potential complication that they will make duplicate copies.

Without knowing who has access to what keys, the security of a property is weakened.

Gain Control With A Lock Change

This customer was pleased to find that I will service a facility after business hours and on weekends. Considering that the facility is a place of business it was necessary to do the work while the building was not experiencing a high flow of customer traffic.

During the rekey process I inspected each of the lever door handles. Each one was found to be in excellent shape. I don't expect there to be any malfunctioning of the hardware for a very long time.

The latch guards add another security stronghold element to the facility. Many attempts to break into a property will consist of brute mechanical force to disrupt a lock. Latch guards protect against such attacks. They dissuade vandalism and give peace of mind.

Now, with the latch guards installed and with the locks changed, this establishment is secure. The owner and employees can rest assured that they have taken strong measures to maintain the security of their business.

Location of Job: Phoenix, AZ
When: May 7, 2016
Service Category: Residential
Services Performed: Cut key by code
Brief Explanation

This customer needed a key replaced for his truck toolbox over the weekend. He was very pleased that I offer 24 hour locksmith services.

Secure Work Equipment

Have a look at another emergency locksmith job that we completed.

In this case, the key to the contractor's work toolbox broke. Without a functioning key, the contractor/client was unable to secure his work tools.

Being a mobile locksmith, I understand the importance of adequately securing work equipment in a vehicle. Much like his property, my property is very valuable to my trade. I was happy to respond promptly to his Saturday evening, 24/hour locksmith request.

Key Cut By Code

Due to the existing key being broken, I was unable to copy the key in a normal key copying fashion. By utilizing a special program and precise locksmithing equipment, I was able to determine the manufacturer's code for the key. Once I found the key's correct code, the new set of keys were cut via the computer program.

The result was a very pleased customer who could once again lock his work equipment securely in his vehicle. The replacement set of keys that were cut by code functioned flawlessly.

Location of Job: Glendale, AZ
When: Apr 12, 2016
Service Category: Residential
Services Performed: Lock Repair, Mortise Lock Repair
Brief Explanation

Locksmith work can sometimes be like a complicated puzzle. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of good puzzle. Likewise, fixing a complicated lock also brings me a lot of joy and fulfillment.

Prompt Response For Lock Repair

Have a look at another lock repair job that we did.

This particular puzzle was in the stripped down form of a mortise lock. The homeowner's key had broken off in the locking mechanism. In an attempt to repair the lock themselves the homeowner disassembled the entire lock.

When I arrived, I was presented with the parts of the lock. After careful analysis and inventory of the pieces I determined that all of the pieces were present and in condition that would permit full operation upon assembly.

Lock Reassembled

Once the lock was put back together and tested for proper function, I determined that a likely cause for the key to have broken within the mechanism was due to the keys being old and worn out. So, I cut two more keys for the customer to ensure that the lock will remain in good operating condition for many years to come.

Location of Job: Glendale, AZ
When: Apr 8, 2016
Service Category: Commercial
Services Performed: Apartment Building Re-Key, Lock Picking, Lock Changes
Brief Explanation

There is a lot of responsibility associated with handling keys for an entire apartment building. Establishing key control is essential for security. Key control is compromised every time there is a change in ownership or change of tenant of a dwelling unit. There is no telling who the prior tenant may have granted access to the keys.

Establish Key Control

Have a look at a home re-key service that we did here.

This 46 unit apartment building needed to establish key control. The task was to change out all of the locks and allow for 1 master key to be maintained for management purposes. Each lock would also have a separate key that would open only that lock; for use by the tenant.

The job required picking over 90 locks by using manual lock picks and electric pick guns. This allowed for safe and effective removal and replacement of locks without damaging or changing the door handle hardware. The savings to management from this technique were substantial.

Efficient And Effective Service

After 19 hours of working, the task was complete. All 46 units had changed locks with 1 master key for all and 1 individual key for each.

This was my first time working with this client. They were well pleased with the services.

It was essential to respond promptly and fix the lock in order to ensure security for this highly esteemed business office in the community.

Prompt Response and Professional Repair

Check out another lock repair job that we completed.

Expert Diagnostic Skills

I carefully opened the lock and examined the interior components. My suspicions were confirmed. It was in fact the rim cylinder tailpiece that was causing the problem.

Location of Job: Glendale, AZ
When: Nov 30, 2015
Service Category: Residential
Services Performed: Cut Padlock and re-cut new keys
Brief Explanation I work on all types of jobs for the needs of different people. I specialize in many different types of locks, keys, safes, and cylinders. I had a first time client give me a call because he had lost the keys to the padlock and door of his horse trailer. He wasn't able to use the trailer to transport his horses safely without having that key.

He called me because I'm a local locksmith that could come out quickly and get his problem taken care of. I knew that he needed door lock keys made by code and the padlock removed. I used bolt cutters to cut off and remove the master padlock from the trailer. I then went ahead and used code software to find the proper cuts for the combination of the new keys. This is an important step because if you don't want to have to pay extra to get a whole new cylinder and new keys made then I need to be able to get the right type of key done so that it fits into your current lock. I used an HPC Punch machine to cut the new keys.

The client was very happy to be able to start using his horse trailer again and transport his horses safely. He was also glad that he was able to find a local locksmith that was available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and come out to him when he needed it.

Location of Job: Glendale, AZ
When: Feb 14, 2016
Service Category: Residential
Services Performed: Lost House Keys, Re-key and new key service
Brief Explanation I am a 24 hour a day locksmith 7 days a week. I know that when someone needs a locksmith they need one right away. It is my goal to always make myself available when someone needs a locksmith to be able to provide them the locksmith services they need. Unfortunately not everyone is aware that I am a 24 hour a day 7 day a week locksmith. I got a call from a nice lady that had just spent the night at a family members house because she had lost her keys. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't find her keys and couldn't get into her house without them. She knew she needed a locksmith but wasn't sure who would be available.

She called on Valentines day. She was understandably a little upset, she wasn't sure how much she would have to pay to get a locksmith out to her on a Sunday and to get her new keys and her home re-keyed. I told her that of course I was an available locksmith and rather than charging her more or even the regular price I gave her a Valentines Day locksmith discount. She was surprised and relieved with my response.

I came out to her and met her at her home. I had to pick the locks open with a lock pick then disassemble the locks. Once I had the door opened and all the locks pulled apart I changed the key pins to fit the new keys. Then I had to go ahead and reassemble the locks and get them back on the door. She had her new keys in hand in no time and now has access back into her home again.

She was very happy and grateful that I was able to help her out of a sticky situation. I let her know that next time should she need a locksmith to give me a call right away rather than inconveniencing herself by having to stay somewhere else for the night or in any other way. She was happy to know that I am an emergency locksmith that works 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
